Mike Russo
President, Principal
Mike Russo joined SPS after 12 years in an executive leadership role at Fluor City Architectural Metals, six years of which were as President and CEO. With more than 25 years experience in the commercial construction industry, Mike is active in every aspect of the business, including Sales and Operations. In 2000, he started the Glass Division of the SPS and for the last three years has led the Corporation as President. Mike earned his bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration from Lycoming College in Pennsylvania.
Dan Herstad
Vice President, Principal
Dan Herstad has over 35 years experience in the commercial construction industry, with the last 26 years leading the Midwest offices for SPS Corporation. Throughout his tenure with SPS, Dan has held various roles and served as the Vice President for the past five years. Dan leads both Sales and Operations activities in the Midwest offices. He earned his degree in Architectural Engineering from ITT Technical Institute in Indiana.
Chris Craney
CFO, Principal
Chris Craney has more than 25 years of experience in a range roles related to finance and accounting. For the last 10 years, he has held the position of Controller and CFO for SPS and has been a partner with the company for the past seven years. Chris earned his bachelor’s of science degree in Accounting from Marian College in Indiana.
Bernie vonLehmden
Director, Sales & Marketing (Southeast Region)
Bernie has over 20 years experience in Project Management and has led the Sales division for SPS Corporation for the past two years. In addition to Sales, he manages the Business Development and Marketing teams for the Southeast Region. While at SPS, Bernie has been in a leadership role on several major projects, including Novartis Pharmaceutical, University of North Carolina-Charlotte Center City, University of North Carolina Imaging Research Building, Talecris Pharmaceutical, Boeing Delivery Center and North Carolina State University Hunt Library. Bernie earned his bachelor’s of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Bruce McDanel
Director, Operations (Southeast Region)
For that past 10 years, Bruce McDanel has led SPS’s Operations division for the Southeast Region, leading all Engineering, Shop and Field Installation efforts. Bruce’s 20-plus years of experience in the commercial construction industry, specializing in glazing and architectural wall panel construction, is especially valued in his current role. While at SPS, Bruce has been in a leadership role on several major projects, including University of North Carolina Cancer Hospital, NASCAR Hall of Fame, SAS Building C and North Carolina State University Engineering Building III. In addition to earning his bachelor’s of science degree from Spring Arbor College in Michigan, Bruce has extensive training in Business Management.
Robert Wielhouwer
Project Executive (Southeast Region)
Robert Wielhouwer’s six years at SPS are among his more than 17 years of experience in the glass industry. He started his career at SPS as a Project Manager and for the last year has been in a leadership role as the Project Executive leading the Project Management team. Robert has led several major projects at SPS, including University of North Carolina Cancer Hospital, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Duke Cancer Center and North Carolina Biotech Center. Robert received his technical degree from the NGA’s (National Glass Association) Glass Management Institute.
