Safety

SPS Corporation is firmly committed to the safety of each of its employees and subcontractors. Our low EMR (Experience Modification Rating), ranging from 0.74 to 0.84 over the past five years, is evidence of our commitment to safeguarding the health of our employees and ensuring safe project sites.

Our full-time safety officer’s responsibilities include the design, implementation and monitoring of job specific safety plans, in addition to providing OSHA, CPR and other safety related training courses to our field and shop team members.

Additionally, because substance abuse — at work or away from work — can seriously endanger the safety of employees and diminish the quality of the finished product, SPS has adopted and strictly enforces a corporate substance abuse policy. The policy includes pre-employment drug screening, random drug testing and post accident/incident testing.
